Capsule for Tricker's X Norse Projects

Unlike the more widely-known Derby cut, the traditional Blucher design eliminated seams along the welt line and provided added protection against the elements – ideal for unpredictable Nordic weather patterns. Developed for Norse Projects and Trickers, I created the waxed Blucher pack connecting two brands and their affinity for simple, utilitarian design.

Made in Northhampton, England with Goodyear welted construction, the understated blucher finds efficient use of rich, waxed leathers. Paired with a natural crepe rubber sole to reflect Danish design principles and the concept of ‘honesty in materials’, this project was focused on historical research of welted footwear and highlighting Norse Projects’ appreciation for careful craftmanship.
